To get the word out about technology to ward and stake members, we would like to offer a regular feature: “Tech News Snippets.” Below are news snippets about Church technology that you can include in ward or stake newsletters, ward program announcements, and other news sources that members check. They are intended for inclusion in print publications.

Webinar training on the new LDS Calendar will be offered Nov. 10 and Nov. 17. For details on registering, go to tech.lds.org and click the “Upcoming Calendar Training Webinars” post. Additional technology webinars will be offered monthly.

A new mobile app, LDS Music, is now available for Apple devices. LDS Music lets you listen to hymns and children’s songs. You can search by title, author, topic, or composer. To download the app, search for the title in the App Store.

A new official Church site was launched: Daughters in My Kingdom: The History and Work of Relief Society. The site contains online and downloadable versions of the companion book. To access the site, on LDS.org go to Tools > Service > Serving in the Church. Click Relief Society in the sidebar. Then click the feature article link.

A new app, The Book of Mormon, is available for Windows 7 phone users. The app is intended for people unfamiliar but curious about the Book of Mormon. You can download the app from the Windows Marketplace.

How many of the official Church apps are installed on your smartphone? A new infographic about LDS mobile apps shows and describes six mobile apps available from the Church. To download the graphic, go to tech.lds.org and click the “LDS Mobile Apps Infographic” post. (You can pin this graphic up on your bulletin boards if desired.)

At the last general conference, Elder Bednar mentioned a new Youth and Family History site. To access the site, on LDS.org go to Menu > Family > Youth. Then click “Youth and Family History” from the page’s menu.

The scriptures are available in many new formats: MP3, M4B, PDF, Braille, and EPUB. To access these formats, on LDS.org go to Menu > Study > Scriptures. Then click Available Formats in the sidebar.

Need to a video for a lesson at home? You can access hundreds of videos online from the LDS Media Library. On LDS.org, go to Menu > Study > Media Library.

Ward and stake leaders: there’s a new Leadership Training Library site that contains video versions of many handbook principles. These videos are especially useful in training meetings. From LDS.org, go to Menu > Service > Leadership Training Library.

Did you know you can contribute your own photos, videos, or music for use in Church projects? From LDS.org, go to Menu > Service > Volunteer and Contribute. Scroll down and click “Create.” Currently, there is a need for photos of prayer. 

Clerks, you can now edit membership data online through Clerk Resources at LDS.org. To access Clerk Resources, first sign in to LDS.org. Then go to Tools > Clerk Resources.
