Blaine Maxfield is the CIO of the Church and the Managing Director of ICS, the Church’s IT department. Prior to joining Church employment, Blaine worked for SunGard, a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest business software and IT services providers in the world. He also wrote Forbes magazine articles, and as SunGard’s spokesman was interviewed for Dow Jones Magazine and other leading financial journals.

In 2010, Blaine was listed in the Power 100 for delivering industry leading integrated solutions for financial institutions. The Power 100 is a list of the top 100 emerging executives who have made a significant difference in the finance industry.

As president of Frontier Analytics, Blaine worked with Nobel laureate Harry Markowitz, the father of modern portfolio theory, to

convert essential economic theories into software solutions that are still used by market analysts.

Blaine has sat on many boards of directors and has several years of executive level experience at many large businesses. He has also been a motivational speaker for national youth groups, providing a forum for them to better experience success and understand failure.

After returning from his mission in Guatemala, he attended Ricks College, where he played football and earned All-American honors his sophomore year. Blaine also met and married his wife while at Ricks.

After Ricks College, Blaine accepted a scholarship to continue his education as part of the Stanford football team. He had the highest GPA on the team and made the Dean’s list. He graduated from Stanford with a degree in Organizational Behavior, and returned to Stanford to receive his Master’s degree in Business Strategy.

Blaine and his wife Jennifer have three children. In his spare time, Blaine enjoys hiking, camping, golfing, and watching his kids’ sporting events.
