A new Church movie, Meet the Mormons, originally intended to be viewed only at visitor centers and in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building theater, is being released for movie screens across the nation. To make sure it comes to a theater near you, you and your friends need to inform theater owners and managers that you want it to be shown sometime after October 10, 2014.

The new movie, produced and made by the Church, is a PG feature-length documentary film which will be released to select theaters on October 10, 2014. This film is an opportunity to see, in an up-close and personal way, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in their everyday lives.

Filmed on location around the globe, “Meet the Mormons” takes viewers on a journey into the lives of six Church members from such diverse places as Nepal and Costa Rica, as well as the United States: Ken Niumatalolo, head football coach at the U.S. Naval Academy; retired Col. Gail “the candy bomber” Halvorsen, from the Berlin Airlift in the ‘40s; a Utah missionary Mom, Dawn Armstrong; Engineer and humanitarian Bishnu Adhirkari, of Nepal; and Carolina Munoz Marin, an amateur kick-boxer from Costa Rica, and her husband, who both run a charity.

Each of the six stories paints a rich and unique picture as fascinating as the next, while also challenging some stereotypes of Mormons. Net proceeds from the film will be donated to charity.
