In case you haven’t already heard, the 2014 Annual Writing and Art Contest is accepting submissions now through the end of the year (December 31, 2014). If you have a poem, creative nonfiction, or fiction piece you have been working on, we want to hear from you. If you are an LDS artist looking for more exposure for your work, send it our way. For some inspiration, check out last year’s winners in the March 2014 online journal. Keep on reading if you’d like some answers to common questions:

What type of writing or art can I submit to the contest?

Our annual writing and art contest looks for submissions in the following categories: creative nonfiction (personal essays, lyrical essays, experimental essays, short memoirs, etc.), fiction, poetry, and visual art.

Who can submit?

We encourage all female, Latter-day Saint writers and artists to submit their applicable work.

What are the awards?

Our annual contest compensates authors and artists with a $100 award for each winning submission. In addition, winners and honorable mentions in each of the categories will be published in an online Segullah Journal in 2015.

When are submissions due?

Entries for the contest are due by December 31, 2014.
