Have you noticed a new feature titled “Talking Technology” on LDSTech’s Facebook page and Twitter feed? If you are not yet following the posts, short quotes are shared from general authorities on technology and its role in spreading gospel messages. As a result, likes and re-postings are at an all-time high for visitors to LDSTech’s social media sites. There have been more than 36,000 “likes” on Facebook in the final week of February alone with more than a thousand conversations!

LDSTech’s Social Media Correspondent, Katie Bradshaw, is the creative force behind the media quotes, unifying them under the common banner “Talking Technology.” She says, “These images are easy to share across numerous social media platforms and they resonate much more than a typical post would.” They also help members feel more connected to Church leadership, and provide an avenue for them to share the Church’s stance on technology and related topics with friends and family when they read and re-post “Talking Technology” content.

With a new general conference coming in April 2015, listen carefully to conference messages. You will likely find technology is spoken of directly or a strong reference is made to media use in conference messages.
