This week we’re saying goodbye to some fine folks:

Apostle Boyd K. Packer at 90, Holocaust Children’s Rescuer Nicholas Winton at 106, and Maria from Sesame Street is retiring after 44 years on the program.

On the rise:

The Mo-Tabs take to the skies and take over the airplane intercom to sing while heading out for a two week tour. Misty Copeland earned a well-deserved principle role, and was the first African-American to do so.  Unlimited screen time for the kids makes them use less? (I’m auditioning it this week.)

Thanks for the lift:

Thank you poky little puppy and all little golden books. Thank you for a clear lesson on how to teach consent . Thank you Zen Pencils for another beauty this week: MAX EHRMANN: Desiderata. Thank you Far Between, and especially thank you Shawna for opening your life to express what it feels like to be gay and Mormonism, wanting its family ideal, but “living on the edge,” Reminding us to keep the covenants we share by mourning with those who mourn, and loving as Christ would have us do.

There’s a shadow stalking my patronus
fear,
there’s harsh lessons inked in bone deep,
there’s kisses and scars and old vinyls playing
so which of them all should I keep.

What was your favorite little golden book?
