I’m pleased to announce that Kel Purcill is now ever greater and more powerful than before as the Blog Editor (I’m doing more on the journal side now), and that (Jennie) Hildie Westenhaver will be stepping up as Assistant Blog Editor.  The amount of sass and spunk firing this blog is stunning. The five-alarm fire they’ll have raging won’t flame out anytime soon.

The October Journal is published.  The journal is the heart of Segullah. We’ve been publishing this refined collection of prose, poetry and art for over ten years now. Come read the gorgeous selections this month from Amy Felix Stewart, Kellie Purcill, and Elizabeth Cranford Garcia (who also has her first chapbook of poetry coming soon). Plus we are still featuring the artwork of Robin Clonts this season, come check out more of her pieces featured on the journal site.

And keep those submissions rolling! We are delighted with the virtual pile we’re collecting, but still hoping for more lovely things to pick from. Prose, poetry and visual art submissions for the contest period will be accepted until December 31st. See guidelines for additional details and specifications for submissions.

Did you know that even pieces that don’t place are often published? And everything we publish goes through our editing process  to make good writing great.
What are you waiting to write? Do it.

If you are thinking of writing a piece better suited to the blog, do that too.
We love guest submissions.
