8 And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
I love how Amulek follows up Alma’s teaching of Christ with his own testimony. He noted that so many have testified of Christ and then afterwards focuses on his own personal witness. This is the essence of bearing testimony. We can and should share the scriptural and contemporary accounts of those who have seen Christ. But even more importantly, we must share our own personal conviction and how we gained that conviction. If we have a witness, the best way to share it is from the heart and from the depth of the soul.
