The Lord’s introduction to the Doctrine and Covenants begins with a bang. What stands out to me the most about he beginning verses of the introduction, however, is how strongly universal its scope is. In particular, the Lord emphasizes time and again that this is the day and we are the Church that will take the message of Christ to all the world.
2 For verily the voice of the Lord is unto all men, and there is none to escape; and there is no eye that shall not see, neither ear that shall not hear, neither heart that shall not be penetrated.

4 And the voice of warning shall be unto all people, by the mouths of my disciples, whom I have chosen in these last days.

8 And verily I say unto you, that they who go forth, bearing these tidings unto the inhabitants of the earth, to them is power given to seal both on earth and in heaven, the unbelieving and rebellious;

11 Wherefore the voice of the Lord is unto the ends of the earth, that all that will hear may hear:

34 And again, verily I say unto you, O inhabitants of the earth: I the Lord am willing to make these things known unto all flesh;

35 For I am no respecter of persons, and will that all men shall know that the day speedily cometh
God is no respector of persons. He will ensure that every person who lived, lives, or will live on the earth will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel. Every heart shall be penatrated with Gospel truth. Everyone will be required to make a choice.

The incredible thing is that God uses us even though we are weak and simple as his instruments. He uses us to ensure that everyone has that great opportunity. Through missionary work and through temple ordinances we reach out across generations and seal individuals in both a literal and figurative sense. That is an incredible opportunity and also an incredible blessings.
