follow-lds-media-talkFacebook is changing its algorithms on what it shows in your Facebook feed. You will now see more posts from your friends and fewer posts from Facebook Pages (like companies and organizations). That’s good because you’ll see fewer ads, but it also means that you’ll need to take action if you still want to see posts from the Church’s pages or from pages like LDS Media Talk.

Here’s what to do:

  1. On the left side of your Facebook timeline, click Pages. You’ll see all the pages you’ve liked over the years. If you don’t see Pages in the left column, then click More and Likes in the navigation bar (see Figure 1 below).
  2. Scroll through the pages (see Figure 2 below) and if you see one you that you really care about seeing a post from, click it.
  3. On that page, click Following, and then click See First in your News Feed (see image above).

The bottom line: if you want to keep seeing posts from a page, make sure you mark it “See First in your News Feed.”

This may take you a little time, but for me, it was really worth it. It will clean up your Facebook feed so that you see things that you are actually interested in. I found some pages that I had liked once long ago because of a sweepstakes or some other reason that is now no longer relevant to me. In fact, I found one page that had now changed it’s focus to be risque–so I’m glad I unliked it.
