In this special documentary episode of “Everything Creative,” host Ryan Tilby speaks with painter Cassandra Barney and people artist Brian Kershisnik. Cassandra talks about her youth, her father being an avid painter, and her travels to various museums and cultures. Although she initially had no interest in painting, she later finds inspiration through her education at Art College. As an artist, she notes how embracing flaws and shaping them into something greater is crucial to having art eventually communicate and serve a higher purpose. Brian Kershisnik discusses how he shifted his focus from architecture to painting in his young adulthood. The pursuits and problems of people are regular topics in his paintings, and they are meant not to be a source of conclusion, but of conversation. Social encounters are imperative to his works and making sense of this life and the next. He later notes how others can easily find answers only after they ask serious questions.
