Mormons use the Bible and the Book of Mormon together

The Book of Mormon is a book of scripture that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints use, along with the Bible, to draw closer to God and to learn more of the role and mission of Jesus Christ as the Savior and Redeemer of the world.

Next month, a special edition of the Church’s Ensign and Liahona magazines will focus completely on The Book of Mormon, exploring more of what The Book of Mormon is, why we have The Book of Mormon, and what it means to individuals members and leaders of the Church. LDS Media Talk explains more about this special magazine issue:

Its pages include a history of the Book of Mormon, members’ personal experiences with it, suggestions for scripture study, and information on how it applies today. Incorporated throughout the issue are  testimonies of and insights into the Book of Mormon from living prophets and apostles, as well as from Joseph Smith and every Church President since.

If anyone is interested in receiving a free copy of this special magazine issue, or a free copy of The Book of Mormon, please let us know.

Our testimony of The Book of Mormon is something that compels many of us to want to share it with others. For example, last year, tens of thousands of Latter-day Saints joined together in an unofficial effort on Facebook, simply to share a Church Church video about The Book of Mormon, wherein Elder Jeffrey R. Holland shares his testimony of The Book of Mormon.

This year, an original (unofficial) video will be created for another Facebook sharing event, which will be on September 30.

One of the key events recorded in the Book of Mormon is the visit of Jesus Christ to the American continent. After His death and resurrection, the Savior visited people who had also been taught of Him by prophets — whose words and teachings are a significant part of The Book of Mormon. The original video will combine artistic, musical and technical talents of Latter-day Saints to celebrate and share about this glorious event in history, and the book that testifies of the love of the Savior for the world.

A website has been set up as well at bookofmormonbelieve.com
