The Tabernacle Choir now has an Android version of the popular mobile app which is running on tens of thousands of iOS devices. The Android app is a free download from the Google Play store. It is gaining followers who want the same portability and accessibility as iOS users to all things related to the Choir. If you’ve not tried the app, you’ll find it an enjoyable way to integrate sacred music into your life.

The simple, straightforward interface uses buttons on a sliding menu bar at the top for navigation that includes the following: “Featured”, “Music”, “Events”, “Shop”, “Playlists” and “Blog.” Similar to its iOS counterpart, you can tune into the 24/7 music stream courtesy of the Mormon Channel, read the latest news and feature selections from the landing screen, and connect to media available for download. Create playlists to organize your music selections, and then pick items from the “Sacred Music Library” or the “Watch Videos” sections to download and assign to a playlist. Once downloaded, the media goes everywhere you go.

Links to social media let you share what inspires you with friends and family. When you share a link to a featured item in a text message on your mobile device, a short description and image is attached with the link. When you add your personal message, it becomes a nice “pick-me-up” for your recipient. From the “Music” section, tune in at 9:30 Mountain Time to watch the live broadcast of “Music and the Spoken Word.” Try shopping for albums, books, and other physical products from the convenience of your mobile device. Follow the Choir’s rehearsal and performance schedules from “Events” and purchase concert tickets. See hints and tips for where to go, and what to do to attend free public venues.

The app is so easy to navigate and use it will likely become a mainstay on your home screen where everything related to America’s Favorite Choir is neatly packaged and right at your fingertips!
