This is the 1,000th article I’ve written on LDSMediaTalk.com. The blog will be 5 years old on July 5th. (See a brief history of LDS Media Talk.) If you do the math, that’s about 200 articles per year, although this last year, I’ve averaged nearly an article a day.

Reach of LDS Media Talk

I thought it would be fun to share some of the statistics about the readership of LDSMediaTalk. Here are the monthly averages:

That’s a total of 24,300 monthly unique readers from 146 countries. Of course, those are potential unique readers, since the same person may access the articles on the site using more than one of these methods. However, it doesn’t count all those who read the articles as they are syndicated across many other sites and blog aggregators, so the actual readers could be many more than that.

Also of note is the influence of Facebook. I did a random survey of the 1,450 people who follow either the LDS Media Talk page or my personal page and found that they have on average about 500 friends each (higher than the average of 130 across Facebook). Since the LDSMediaTalk posts also show up on their friends’ walls, that’s a potential for 725,000 additional people reading the posts!
