Today the closing song for Music and the Spoken Word broadcast was the jubilant "Praise to The Lord, the Almighty". The words are so befitting for this Thanksgiving time:

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is thy health and salvation!
Join the great throng,Psaltery, organ and song,
Sounding in glad adoration!

Praise to the Lord! Over all things he gloriously reigneth.
Borne as on eagle wings, safely his Saints he sustaineth.
Hast thou not seen How all thou needest hath been
Granted in what he ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy way and defend thee.
Surely his goodness and mercy shall ever attend thee.
Ponder anewWhat the Almighty can do,
Who with his love doth befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that is in me adore him!
All that hath breath, join with Abraham’s seed to adore him!
Let the “amen”Sum all our praises again,
Now as we worship before him.

The Lord is our creator of all all that lives, breathes and grows upon the earth. He was instrumental in carrying out His Father's will. He "...grants us daily breath". He is, as He told his followers while He was on the earth, "I am the way.." As I sung that athem of praise today, I was reminded of the talents that my Father in Heaven bestowed upon me - to be able to join my voice with others; with the orchestra and the "king of instruments - the organ". All joining our talents to praise our creator.

If we just open our eyes, we can witness the beauty of our Lord's creation. He has entrusted us, among other things to be good stewards of His creation. If we open our minds, we can witness the silent miracles that will ever "denote that there is a God". If open our mouths in prayer, we can witness miracles through a Father who hears and answers our righteous prayers, and that which testifies that Heaven are, indeed open and God does speak to men, women, and children again.

As we follow in His footsteps and "hearken to the voice of the shepherd", we can be sustained physically and spiritually. If we take a moment to think about our Father in Heaven and the power He possesses, it can be mind-boggling. To know and understand that He is the Father (and creator) of our spirits. He commands and living creatures obey. What is the most humbling thing for me is of His unconditional love for all of us, and the powerful promise that we will have "all that the Father has". We will be able to do all those things - because our Father wants us to have it.

Knowing that we know our Heavenly Father and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ - knowing all that they do for us - knowing that his desires of us is to become like Him - knowing all of this, we can proclaim as a surety with every part of our body - our hearts, our minds, our physical body that He lives! He loves us! He considers us as joint heirs. Can we not help by singing, proclaiming, practicing what we purport to believe of our reciprocal love for Him? We can join with those of the ancient prophets all the way to our present prophet in joining our praise of Thanksgiving to Him?

Let our daily conversations be of Christ. Let our daily acts be full of charity and full of thankfulness to our Lord. Let all that is within us praise The Lord!
