The Kyiv, Ukraine temple was long in coming. I've been monitoring it's progress ever since it was announced in 1998. Most temples don't take anywhere near this long. This temple is days away from becoming operational. Here is a map of its location.
Ground was broken in 2007. President Uchtdorf made an historic visit in 2009. The Open House is occurring now and the dedication is scheduled for August 29. The video above is available here. All the pictures are accessible from this link. The history of the Church in the Ukraine is also available.
