I'm doing something that I'm really proud of, and excited about --  and wanted to let you know. As a writer, I've accepted an invitation to contribute to a new forum online, Real Intent, where LDS writers share a journey of discovery through the experimentation of faith. While I'll still be doing the majority of my writing here on WBMW, my work will appear on this larger platform as well. I'd love to have you come and see this new magazine, join the conversation there, and tell others about it.

What you'll find when you get there:

  • A new place, online, where participants love and support the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and desire to uphold their counsel and teachings.

  • 24 faithful Mormon writers with a desire to share our stories, testimonies and gospel insights, with Real Intent.

  • A place that you can discuss everything related to being a Mormon, from a faithful perspective.

  • And most important, a place that is intended to help us all progress on our own journey of faith.

What you won't find:

  • A place for those who are critical of the Church and/or its leaders to have a stage to voice those grievances.

And for these reasons, I am pleased to be a part in both contributing to Real Intent, and building its community.

Real Intent Vision

"Most people who know much about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have heard of the Book of Mormon. Most who know much about that book have heard about the challengeone of its editors makes as he closes the record.

And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. (emphasis added)

Real intent. To ask and intend to act upon what you discover. That is the mark of one who has sufficient faith to begin to know the mysteries of God. That is the mark of one who will continue to grow in understanding, adding knowledge to knowledge as the trial of faith brings greater light.

We, the authors at Real Intent, are interested in promoting a journey of discovery through the experimentation of faith, aiding one another by sharing insights and solutions regarding issues that face individuals, families, and communities in an increasingly divided world.

We invite you to join us, bring your ideas, and make a real difference NOW."

I would love for you to read and comment on my first post: From Faith to Conviction.  (Which might seem a bit familiar to my WBMW readers, as I've reworked it from a previous post here. Shh... )
