The Pew Research Center recently updated their annual report on who is using social media. Here are a few key findings and an infographic:
- 16% of U.S. Internet users are active on Twitter, which is more popular with black and Hispanic users, adults aged 18-29, and people who live in urban areas.
- Women are 5 times as likely as men to use Pinterest.
- City dwellers are significantly more likely than rural residents to be on Twitter.
- Blacks and Hispanics are more likely than whites to use Instagram.
- Pinterest attracts higher-educated affluent women.
