I recently wrote about how you can create your own profile on Mormon.org and print personalized pass-along cards with your own picture.
Now you can link your Mormon.org profile to your Google+ account, which earns Google authorship ranking which may help your profile be seen more.
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Go to mormon.org/profile and sign in with your LDS Account.
- Click Edit This Profile.
- Scroll down to the Social Networks section.
- Click the option to Add Google+ Link and enter your Google+ URL.
- Click Submit for Review.
Note: To find your Google+ URL, go to your Google+ profile, click About, and you’ll find it at the top of the Links section. For example, mine is google.com/+LarryRichman. If you haven’t yet created your own vanity URL (instructions here), then your URL may look something like plus.google.com/115229808208707341778.
Then link your Google+ profile to your Mormon.org profile by following these steps:
- Go to your Google+ profile.
- Click About.
- Scroll down to the Links section and click Edit at the bottom of that box.
- In the section Contributor To, click Add Custom Link.
- In the Label box, type a title, such as “Mormon.org Profile” and in the URL box, enter your Mormon.org profile URL.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
- Test it out by clicking the entry you just made.
Note: To find your Mormon.org profile URL, go to mormon.org/profile and click My Profiles in the left navigation. Then in the middle of the page, click View this Published Profile and a new tab will open to show your profile. Your profile URL is the web address of that page. For example, mine is mormon.org/me/1VC9.
