The Church website news.lds.org and Church magazines (magazines.lds.org) provide Church news for Latter-day Saints.
MormonNewsroom.org is different, however, because it communicates to a broader audience comprised of journalists, opinion leaders, and the public with official news and information about the Church. (Hint: It’s also great for members.)
As an official news source, the Mormon Newsroom provides a platform for Church leaders to occasionally highlight public initiatives, declare public positions, and emphasize Church messages in a way specifically oriented to the general public rather than to Church members alone. Information on the site includes:
- Official statements and news releases.
- Infographics.
- Commentaries that deepen conversations surrounding the Church.
- A “Getting It Right” feature that highlights accurate and fair portrayals of the Church in news reports and blogs, while also correcting inaccuracies.
- Photo essays that illustrate the cultural diversity of Mormons across the globe, as well as many other facets of the Latter-day Saint lifestyle.
- Updates on Church events and activities as well as what members are doing in their communities around the world.
