A new website from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints lets you experience the historic places and sacred events that occurred in Palmyra, New York.
Visiting a historic place can be a powerful experience which confirms the reality of the Restoration. Unfortunately, most people will never have the opportunity to stand in the Sacred Grove or climb the Hill Cumorah.
But now you can experience historic Palmyra online with immersive photography and interactive narratives and maps. You can also read the spiritual experiences of people who have visited the place.
In the coming months, these web pages will be available in ten languages. Additional web pages are being developed for the Joseph Smith Birthplace, the Peter Whitmer Farm, the Priesthood Restoration Site, and the Handcart Sites. And in the next four years, online visitors from around the globe will be able to experience all 24 historic places operated by the Church.
These webpages are a section of history.lds.org.
