Peter Schuttler of Chicago provided the lion’s share of the wagons purchased by LDS emigration agents for the overland pioneers of the 1850s and ’60s. By the time of this 1874 ad, the original Peter had died, and his son, also named Peter, was running the business and continuing to enjoy a good reputation among the Mormons.
