On July 28, 2015, Brian Howard gave a devotional address at BYU-Idaho on “The Role of Media in Hastening the Work.” He gave an interesting review of the innovation of technology and talked about how the Church has used media over the years.
He referenced the “Mormon Media History Timeline: 1827-2007” by Sherry Baker. This timeline covers 180 years of key events relating to the development and use of media by the Church.
He then talked about how we as individual members can use media to Share Goodness. Thanks to Brian for mentioning this blog, LDS Media Talk, and the book 101 Ways to Hasten the Work Online for ideas on how to share the gospel. (See 15:00-16:30 in the video.) The book becomes available just this week at the BYU-Idaho University Store, in addition to Deseret Book, LDSBookstore.com, Amazon (in printed and Kindle editions), from Smashwords (e-books in various formats), and directly from the publisher.
I encourage you to watch the entire devotional “The Role of Media in Hastening the Work.” A transcript of the talk is also available.
Now go out and #ShareGoodness!
