The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has published a coloring book for children based on stories from the Book of Mormon. This new resource will help children gain a love for the people, stories, and teachings in the Book of Mormon.
The coloring book is designed to support family and individual scripture study. The 20-page book includes look-and-find, dot-to-dot, mazes, and other fun activities. Each page also includes a challenge to search the scriptures. For example, a coloring page about 1 Nephi 16 invites children to draw what the Liahona might look like and then asks, “How did the Liahona help Lehi’s family?”
To access this coloring book, as well as videos and audio programs about the scriptures, see scripturestories.lds.org. There, you can download a free PDF of the coloring book, from which you can choose to print the entire book or just individual pages.
You can get a printed copy of the coloring book for 85 cents from store.lds.org, Distribution Services centers, Deseret Book, LDS Bookstore, and other LDS booksellers. The book is only available in English now, but plans are to translate it into the languages that have LDS editions of the scriptures. Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Traditional), German, Russian, and Italian will be available on LDS.org near the end of March 2016, with copies of the printed book by May of 2016. Additional translations will follow in the coming years.
It is the first in a series of coloring books based on the scriptures.
