In the video, “Baptism: A Bible Story for Children,” the Mormon Channel asked kids to tell in their own words the story of Jesus being baptized.
In this story, Jesus traveled to the Jordan River, where John the Baptist was preaching and baptizing. Jesus asked John to baptize him. At first, John said no; instead, he needed to be baptized by Jesus. But Jesus explained that he needed to be baptized by John to fulfill all the commandments of God and to set an example for God’s children. See Matthew 3:13-17.
When we are baptized, our sins are washed away. When we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, we are promised the constant companionship of God’s love and guidance.
