The non-profit organization FamilySearch is building the largest ever family tree of mankind. The massive Family Tree is attempting to identify every person who has ever lived on earth and link them together in generations back to Adam. Millions of volunteers are adding information about their ancestors and linking billions of children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins together into family generations.

Access to the Family Tree is free, where you can trace your ancestors and learn about your heritage. In the Family Tree, you can discover more than just names and dates. This archive contains billions of photographs; family stories; journals; birth, marriage, and death certificates; and other information about our ancestors.

FamilySearch has tens of thousands of volunteers who digitally photograph vital records from hundreds of thousands of city, state, and other governmental and church archives worldwide. They then run artificial intelligence (AI) programs that turn the records into searchable text. All this genealogical data is entered into the FamilySearch database, which is merged with large data partners such as Ancestry.com, FindMyPast, MyHeritage, and BillionGraves. All this data is available free online.

For those who want an in-person experience, FamilySearch also operates a network of over 5,000 Family History Centers in 140 countries around the world, which provide free help to anyone who wants to research their genealogy and add to the family tree of humanity.
