The Church is looking at ways to build temples more quickly, while still maintaining the highest quality construction. The typical process of building everything on site takes five to 10 years to build a temple. But with 49 temples under construction and 89 more temples announced, the Church must find innovative construction techniques. One such innovative technique has allowed the Helena Montana Temple to be built in less than two years.

The Helena temple was built in a production plant in 25 pieces with the highest construction quality. Each piece was then shrink wrapped and carried by semitruck to the temple site where the pieces were fit together. The final electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling and ventilation systems, along with exterior art deco stone cladding and tower assembly, were then done on site.
