Every year, wards and stakes have been requested to submit an annual history of important events in the ward or stake.
The Church is modernizing the whole process to encourage leaders to submit stories throughout the year into a new Unit History tool. Stories can be written by leaders serving in various ward and stake callings. The best part is that members will be able to read and be inspired by the stories from their own ward and stake.
Preparing and submitting these histories helps fulfill the Lord’s charge: “Continue in writing and making a history of all the important things … concerning my church. … And also, my servants who are abroad in the earth should send forth the accounts of their stewardships” (Doctrine and Covenants 69:3, 5).
