scripture-study-toolboxJohn Hilton III has written Your Scripture Study Toolbox with a variety of approaches to help you make your scripture study more meaningful.

John describes four Scripture Study Basics:

  1. Have a set amount of time to read the scriptures each day.
  2. Begin and end your study with prayer.
  3. Take time to record and ponder on the things you’re learning (this “counts” as studying!).
  4. Act on what you learn.

When we read the scriptures for the sake of reading, scripture study is less meaningful. But when we have purpose for our scripture study, we can feast on the words of Christ.
