The Church has released more contemporary hymn arrangements and added new features to its Sacred Music app. The new additions include curated playlists and Songs of Devotion, Vol. 2.
Two new albums and two new playlists now appear on Music.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and in the Sacred Music App, under a new folder titled Music for Everyday Listening.
The releases come on the heels of two digital sacred music releases—one in November 2023 and the other earlier this month.
One of the new albums is the second volume of Songs of Devotion. The other features member-submitted covers of hymns and children’s songs, collected through open submissions throughout the year. In addition to the full album, individual songs will be added monthly as supplementary resources in the Come, Follow Me digital lesson manuals. These songs will soon be available through music streaming platforms Spotify and Apple Music as well.
Playlists are a new feature in the Music Library. The first two curated playlists, Peaceful Moments and Latter-day Vibes, offer hours of listening—whether you’re seeking something calm or upbeat—from the Church’s existing library of music.
The latest update to the Sacred Music App lets you create and sync your own playlists to your account. This means playlists will remain saved, even if the app is updated or re-installed. In a soon-to-come update, playlists will also cross channels and be available on the online Music Library.
