The Church provides several resources to help prepare children for baptism and confirmation.
Special Issue of the Friend Magazine
This special issue of the Friend about baptism and confirmation includes four sections: Following Jesus Christ by Being Baptized, Confirmation and the Gift of the Holy Ghost, Belonging to Jesus Christ’s Church, and Following Jesus Every Day. Each section has stories, activities, and learning resources to help teach gospel principles. This special issue is available online, in the Gospel Library, in print, and as a downloadable PDF.
Gospel Topics
The section Topics and Questions in the Gospel Library has the following:
- The entry on Baptism has an Overview about baptism and a Gospel Study Guide with three mini-lessons about baptism.
- The entry on Holy Ghost has an Overview about the Holy Ghost, a Gospel Study Guide about the Holy Ghost and a Gospel Study Guide about the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

- “Helping Children Prepare for Baptism” in the February Liahona offers suggestions on how to teach children about the covenants they will make at baptism. It also suggests ways to ease their potential fears by describing to them what to expect at the baptism and confirmation.
