The Topics and Questions section of ChurchofJesusChrist.org now has answers to three important issues regarding Church financial administration, temples, and peacemaking.
Church Financial Administration
The new page on Church Financial Administration includes answers to questions about principles that govern Church finances, why the Church spends money on temples, how much it spends on humanitarian efforts, whether Church leaders receive financial support, and who manages Church financial reserves.
See more infographics on the page how the Church uses donations and financial reserves.
Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The page on temples explores topics such as what happens in temples, why Church members are baptized for deceased ancestors, why worship in temples seems more ceremonial than other Church experiences, how the endowment ceremony compares to Masonic rituals, why temple procedures and ceremonies change over time, and why Latter-day Saints wear garments.
Peacemaking
The page Religion vs. Violence, addresses questions such as, “Are religious people more likely to be violent?” and “How do we make sense of instances of violence in the scriptures?”
The section includes information about political violence and vigilantism, the “Mormon-Missouri War” in the 1830s, “blood atonement,” the Mountain Meadows Massacre, violence against Indigenous Americans, capital punishment, guns and gun ownership, and war and military service
