Bislama is the national language of Vanuatu, an island nation in the South Pacific Ocean with a population of 335,000. Bislama is an English-based creole that serves as a lingua franca in Vanuatu, which is one of the most linguistically diverse countries in the world, with over 100 indigenous languages.
