The “Using Music to Teach Doctrine” section in Appendix C of the manual Come, Follow Me—For Home and Church lists various techniques for teaching doctrine through music. The section has specific ideas to make Primary Singing Time more effective in helping children learn the truths of the gospel.

Youth and adults can also use the power of children’s music to help the simple doctrines of the Gospel to sink deep into our hearts.

The Primary General Presidency recently posted the following invitation on social media:

  • Think of one of your favorite Primary songs.
  • What pure and simple doctrine does it teach?
  • Does that doctrine ever come to your mind in unexpected moments?
  • How does its message make you feel?

The Come, Follow Me—For Home and Church manual has four appendices with ideas to help apply the lessons for parents, Primary, Aaronic Priesthood Quorums, and Young Women classes.
