Remember when we were in Delaware with our precious baby girl, living in our little Sonesta medium-term housing unit, playing disc golf at all those great courses? Then on Sunday, we went to the local ward—and there was the nurse who had taken care of Lizzy when we first met her.

Was it a coincidence that one of the nurses caring for infant Lizzy just happened to be a member of the Church in an area where there are so few members?

Maybe.

But to me, it was a tender mercy—a sign that Lizzy was meant to be part of our family and a testament to the goodness and fruits of the restored Church.

What can’t be disputed is the absolute kindness and goodness of those Saints—devoted disciples of Christ who welcomed us, complete strangers not even in their ward, into their homes and even threw a baby shower for Lizzy.

Where else in the world can you find an organization where you can be so connected, supported, and loved almost anywhere you go, other than in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The fruits of the latter-day Church are good.
