When Caleb was born, I remember holding him—this precious, tiny infant—and feeling the incredible love that only a parent can feel. It was a profound spiritual experience to realize that I was being entrusted with this precious spirit child.

Just moments earlier, he had been beyond the veil, in the presence of loved ones, with an understanding of things as they truly are. And now, he knew nothing. He was starting over in a flesh clean slate of innoncence and I was entrusted to raise him, to teach him, love him, and to guide him in truth so that he could one day return to the presence of the Father.

The gift of life—the sacred calling of becoming a father—is a testimony to me of our divine origin, of our Heavenly Father’s plan for us, and of His way of teaching us to understand a portion of His love by giving us the privilege of being parents. Having a family and feeling the deep love that comes with it is part of His eternal plan. The spiritual witness I received while holding my newborn son in the hospital strengthens my faith in the importance of family and God’s plan.

Thank you for being my partner in bringing these beautiful children into the world and for allowing them to be born into a family that carries the promises of the covenant.
