In today’s world with such rapidly evolving technology and change, it is important that we find ways to distinguish between deception and reality, between right and wrong, good and bad, and make technology a tool instead of something that overwhelms or misleads us.
In Moroni 10:5 we read, “And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.” It is ultimately by the Spirit that we can discern, but that’s combined with our own efforts.
Doctrine and Covenants 9:8 reminds us about thinking it out in your mind. It reads, “But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.” It is a combination of Spirit on the one hand and critical thinking on our part combined.
