From the iMTC About page:
The Internet MTC is an independent project of Gospel Ideals International, a non-profit organization dedicated to championing the gospel of Jesus Christ via the Internet and technology. Neither the Internet MTC nor Gospel Ideals is an official project of or owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Here, we form a community of LDS bloggers and social networkers and teach them how to use their Internet presences to effectively promote the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to reach out to people across the globe and direct interested parties to Mormon.org. We make using the Internet simple so you are an instant expert! When I began writing over three years ago, on Hubpages as LdsNana-AskMormon, it was prior to Elder Ballard's landmark talk about using the Internet to share the gospel. I feel kind of like a pioneer in this area, if I do say so myself! It's been a great experience and I've learned so much about how to talk about the LDS Church to non-members.
Even with more LDS members online, than ever before, there is still quite a bit of discomfort and lack of knowledge about how to share the gospel on the Internet. It seems like almost everyone is on Facebook these days, and yet the simple use of the 'share' feature is sadly underused. Just think of the possibilites IF more members would just begin by using this one simple Social Media tool! It boggles the mind!
And of course this is where the Internet MTC will really be of benefit to all Mormons with a desire to share the gospel online. An invitation to receive small assignments with simple instructions will be periodically assigned to this group of digital missionaries, with the ability to easily follow-through and feel success in the work!
So, if you're ready... come on over and submit your missionary info and get on board!
