I hardly know what to say about this inspiring video, that shows what a few LDS Missionaries, two who recently launched their proselyting blog, Reach My Gospel, did just recently, and in all places, Union Square, New York, with the intent to capture the attention of passersby in order to teach them about the Plan of Salvationusing the art of chalk drawing!

One thing's for sure, that each one of us have gifts, talents and desires to share the gospel with others, and with a little creativity and willingness to use everything we've got to get the job done, we will be successful; what God needs our help to accomplish, and right now!

Chalk Art

Elder Witbeck, who blogs on Reach My Gospel, said that the new blog, "is designed to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel". He went on to explain that one of the purposes of the blog is to share different ways we can be successful. (And apparently he wasn't kidding!) He lists three important helps for all of us:

1- Improve our personal relationship with God. (Find ways to improve personal prayers, scripture study and what we do when we're at church.)

2- Help others to do the same! (Encourages his readers to share what is posted on RMG.)

3- Find answers to questions that we might have! (Interesting insight, in order to become more confident as a member missionary. I think.)

I'm hoping to learn more about how the idea to use gospel chalk drawings, in the middle of a major public gathering space came about, and what these missionary's experiences have been as a result of following the Spirit to use this particular "language" to reach out to locals.

Let's be honest, this is a bit 'outrageous' for full-time LDS missionaries to be doing, to get their message noticed. I mean, it's not what any of us would normally expect. Am I right? However, rumor has it that this is not the first chalk art these missionaries have created to share the gospel.

I couldn't help but recall this verse of scripture, wherein the Lord reveals that He will use all manner of communication, through His chosen servants, to ensure that every child of God receives the fulness of the gospel.

"For it shall come to pass in that day, that every man shall hear the fulness of the gospel in his own tongue, and in his own language, through those who are ordained unto this power, by the administration of the Comforter, shed forth upon them for the revelation of Jesus Christ." (D&C 90:11)

The plan of happiness is personal, because the Atonement is intimate to each one of us - yet, we all must receive it. If each one of us are prayerful about how we can share the gospel with others, and listen, perhaps we will find ourselves using our gifts and talents to do something "outrageous", too!

And as Elder Witbeck reminds us, "Remember, the gospel is true, and God loves you!"
