I saw a notice on one of the social networks about November being the month of THANKSgiving and challenging us to tell what we are thankful for each day of the month. So, I thought I would blog about this each day. They will be smaller than normal posts and will contain this same header.

Day 2 - I am grateful for the knowledge of The Plan of Savation, or plan of happiness as it is also called. I was privileged today today to be a part if a mini Tabernacle Choir for a funeral of a husband, who was a former member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, whose wife is still in the choir. We were asked if we could sing, and the response and support was overwhelming. The music was wonderful and the speakers were eloquent. Tears of sorrow and gratitude were expressed by the majority.

This thing called death can seem like a finality - i.e., that is it. There is no more. It is done. How grateful I am to know of the wonderful plan that turns tears of despair and hopelessness into tears of gratitude and hope. Death is not the end, but progression in the plan of happiness. The plan is available for everyone; member or not.  Knowing how much I love the hymns and songs of the church, I'll relate the plan of salvation in a beautiful children's song:

I lived in heaven a long time ago, it is true;
 Lived there and loved there with people I know. So did you.
Then Heav’nly Father presented a beautiful plan,
All about earth and eternal salvation for man.

Father said he needed someone who had enough love
To give his life so we all could return there above.
There was another who sought for the honor divine.
Jesus said, “Father, send me, and the glory be thine.”

Jesus was chosen, and as the Messiah he came,
Conquering evil and death through his glorious name,
Giving us hope of a wonderful life yet to be--
Home in that heaven where Father is waiting for me.

 (I Lived in Heaven)

Even though I did not know Blaine, nor spoke directly to his wife I still feel a brotherly love. Blaine has finished his work on the earth and continues to minister and serve to those of Father in Heaven's Spirit children who did not have the opportunity to hear about the gospel while they lived on the earth. And Blaine's wife is comforted by the plan that she will be reunited with him after her time on earth has ended. And that through temple covenants and ordinances that families can be forever.

God be with you Blaine, till we meet again.
