archuleta-06aOver 50,000 LDS youth participated in a Face to Face Live Facebook chat with David Archuleta, professional singer and recently returned LDS missionary.

Youth around the world asked questions and heard about David decision to postpone a successful music career to serve the Lord. He sang, shared stories from his Mormon mission, and gave advice for future missionaries. Below are some screen captures from the event:

There were over 50,000 total streams: 28,000 of the live Spanish event and 22,000 of the live English event. Not only did more people view the live Spanish event than the live English event, but there were also more comments posted in Spanish than in English.

Hundreds of comments were posted on the LDS Youth app, on Tiwtter, on Instagram, and on Facebook showing the positive effect this event had in the lives of LDS youth and their increased desire to serve missions and to attend the temple weekly. The hashtag for the event, #LDSface2facetrended on Twitter nationally for 20 minutes. Tweets were sent from every Latin American country.
