Want to learn more about family history? Find inspiration and help to get started at the 2016 Family Discovery Day at RootsTech. It will be streamed live on LDS.org on Saturday, February 6, 2016.
Speakers at Family Discovery Day will include Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Ruth Renlund, Primary general president Rosemary M. Wixom, Brother Stephen W. Owen of the Young Men general presidency, and other special guests.
General sessions and a sampling of technology and family history presentations will be streamed live. See the live streaming schedules for English and Spanish, French, and Portuguese translations.
If you can’t watch that day, videos of the messages will also be archived at lds.org/discoverfamily for later viewing in the following languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
Family Discovery Day is especially designed for families and members of the Church ages eight and older. The messages and classes are designed to teach you how to find your ancestors, how to prepare names for temple ordinances, and how to teach others to do the same. The Church hosts the one-day event, which takes place at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City during RootsTech, the largest family history conference in the world, which is hosted by FamilySearch International, February 3–6, 2016. Learn more about attending the live event, which is free but requires preregistration.
Family groups and leaders of wards and stakes interested in hosting a local family history fair or family discovery day can learn more at lds.org/hostfair.
