This Easter season, the Church’s “Prince of Peace” initiative invites the world to find the inner peace that comes from the life and teachings of the Savior Jesus Christ. The initiative focuses on Holy Week, from Palm Sunday (April 9) to Easter Sunday (April 16). The purpose of the Prince of Peace initiative is threefold:
- Invite all to come unto Christ.
- Learn principles of peace from the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
- Share ways to find peace through the Savior.
Last year’s Christmas initiative was focused on outward service to others. This year’s Easter initiative is about finding inner peace through the Prince of Peace.
Invite All to Come Unto Christ
Beginning March 31, visit the Prince of Peace website at mormon.org to watch a new 2.5-minute video that illustrates the role of Jesus Christ as the Prince of Peace. Then invite others to do the same. Download images and resources to share at mormon.org/download. That page will be updated regularly so check back frequently.
The main video will be available in 33 languages on mormon.org and in the Gospel Library mobile app. The web page will be available in 29 languages. You can find supporting content in the Ensign, the New Era, and the Friend magazines.
Learn Principles of Peace from the Prince of Peace
During Holy Week (April 9-16), the Church will feature daily videos on mormon.org and its social channels focusing on eight principles of peace taught by the Prince of Peace: faith, compassion, forgiveness, repentance, gratitude, God’s word, prayer, and hope. These principles can lead to peace in your life and will help you draw closer to the Savior. Each day, the website and social media sites will feature one principle with a video about an individual’s experience finding peace by living that principle. The daily videos will be available in English and Spanish.
Share Ways to Find Peace Through the Savior
Watch for the videos and related content on the Church’s social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, and Instagram) or the Prince of Peace website in English and Spanish. Visit the website to see what others are doing to share the message. Then be sure to share your own experiences. As you post messages, please include the hashtag #PRINCEofPEACE.
