I glanced back at the teenaged boys in the pew behind us during sacrament meeting. They were visiting family, so I don’t know them. Two of them sitting there with their family, looking bored. They were hunched over, like so many teenagers today, looking at . . . the back of the pew in front of them. Not a phone to be seen. I think one of them was tracing the grain of the wood with his finger. Just like I did when I was bored in sacrament meeting decades ago. See kids, this is what we did before phones…
