All young returning missionaries are now preapproved for BYU–Pathway Worldwide, which is a low-cost, Church-sponsored higher education program.

Through BYU–Pathway Worldwide, many returned missionaries who otherwise would not be able to gain higher education will be able to achieve their educational goals, provide for themselves and their families, and become better disciples of Jesus Christ.

Returning missionaries who apply for BYU–Pathway Worldwide will begin their education in the online PathwayConnect program, which will teach them how to succeed in university studies. Following PathwayConnect, they will be able to earn job-ready certificates in less than a year while working toward a bachelor’s degree

Because BYU–Pathway Worldwide courses are in English, non-English-speaking missionaries are strongly encouraged to learn English using Companionship Language Study.
