missionary-course

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a new missionary preparation course to help prospective missionaries prepare spiritually, physically, and emotionally for missionary service.

The new teacher guide, Missionary Preparation: A Teaching Resource, is now available in 38 languages in the Gospel Library and on the mobile app. The course replaces existing mission preparation resources and is intended to unify mission preparation among wards, stakes, and institutes worldwide.

The curriculum builds on prospective missionaries’ personal study of Preach My Gospel: A Guide to Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The second edition of Preach My Gospel was released in 2023, nearly 20 years after its initial publication.

Those who participate in missionary preparation will learn the missionary purpose and see how it can guide them in their lives today and in all aspects of missionary work. They will also practice skills that can help them become better gospel teachers and more emotionally resilient individuals. They will be empowered to make commitments that will help them live the gospel of Jesus Christ, prepare for missionary service, and share the Savior’s gospel with family and friends.

The introductory materials in the manual provide information on organizing missionary preparation classes in wards and stakes. Institute leaders will find additional resources in the new S&I Help Center, where they can connect with a community of instructors and share ideas.
