Four members of a South Jordan [Utah] family opened LDS mission calls on the same night.
When the LDS missionary age change was announced, that meant the family of four could go on a mission one year earlier. A mother and her three kids put in their paperwork on March 1st and received their calls at the same time.
“I knew when my kids went on missions I would be an empty nester and I thought, ‘well I can go,’” 47-year-old Teresa Wang said.
Teresa will be sent to the Polynesian Culture Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her 20-year-old daughter, Jill, is off to the Mormon Battalion Visitor Center in San Diego, California.
18-year-old Christian will be going to Vancouver, Canada and his twin brother, Cole, will be serving a mission in Mexico, Mexico City.
The entire family will be going to the Provo Missionary Training Center in August. The twin boys enter August 7th, Teresa goes August 19th and Jill reports August 21st.
