James Nerden, 27, of Ogden, Utah, a blacksmith with the railroad, was baptized in 1910 following his 1908 marriage to an LDS woman. He died of influenza and pneumonia in Ogden, 23 Oct 1918, survived by his wife and three children. He was buried at Ogden.
